How to change name in PAN card as per Aadhaar details

The PAN card is vital and is used for tax administration, identity verification, etc,. For the purpose of filing your income tax returns, the distinctive ten-digit alphanumeric character is very important.

On our documents, names are frequently spelt somewhat differently or due to spelling errors, mismatch with the name in our Aadhaar. Additionally, people occasionally may need to modify their PAN Card name for legal reasons.

Also, if you want to link PAN with Aadhaar, details in both the documents should match for successful linking.

One of the easiest ways to amend your name on your PAN card is probably by using your Aadhaar card. These are the steps to take if you want to get your name changed as per your Aadhaar.

How to change name in PAN card as per Aadhaar details
Step 1: Visit the official website of https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html), click on PAN Card Services, and then click on Change/Correction in PAN Card.
Step 2: You will be directed to the page of the Application for Change/Correction in PAN Data
Step 3: Enter details and click on continue. (Note the token number)
Choose option the 2 available options-Physical (Forward Application with documents physically) and submit Digitally eKYC and Esign.
Step 4: Click Yes on the box mentioning Aadhaar based e-KYC option(all details as per Aadhaar will be updated and click Save.
Step 5: Enter your PAN and also select the mode in which you wish to receive the updated PAN Card- both physical PAN Card and e-PAN or e-PAN only.
Step 6: Enter the last four digits of your Aadhaar Number and choose whether you want to get the same photograph printed on your PAN Card as your Aadhaar Card or not.
Step 7: Enter your name as per your Aadhaar Card.
Step 8: Fill up all the basic details and make the requisite payment and make payment
Step 9: Upon successful payment processing, an acknowledgement will appear on the screen. Click on ‘Continue.’
Step 10: Aadhaar authentication will take place from the UIDAI server, after which the application will be processed further.
Step 11: OTP will be sent to your UIDAI registered mobile number.
Your address from the UIDAI database will be filled in on the PAN form after you input the OTP and check the appropriate box to indicate your approval.
Step 12: Confirm details and submit.

PAN correction can be done both online or offline mode.
For offline mode, you are required to submit the “Request For New PAN Card Or/ And Changes or Correction in PAN Data” form at the nearest PAN facilitation centre.
