Bank holiday in July 2023: Banks will remain closed for as many as fifteen days in the month of July 2023. These holidays includes Second and fourth Saturdays as well as Sundays, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar. Of these, eight holidays are listed under the Holidays Under Negotiable Instruments Act, while the remaining are weekend leaves. Banks are open on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Some of these bank holidays will be state-specific, and during national holidays, banks will remain shut across the country. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has placed the holidays under three brackets- Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
While the bank branches will remain closed on these days, mobile and internet banking will remain functional as usual. Customers can make transactions through online modes.

28 July: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar due to Ashoora
29 July: Banks will be closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla on account of Muharram (Tajiya)
